Big Question so far in year 4 by Tom & Lula

First we learnt about Egyptians. We mummified oranges which wasn’t so easy, but we didn’t expect it to be that disgusting! A few days later, we visited the Manchester museum to learn more about the Egyptians and saw a ‘beautiful’ mummy. then, we made menus that would of been in a real Egyptian café. Next, we learnt about mountains and rivers which was really fun! we put major mountains and rivers on a map and we went to the river Mersey and tested some oranges they were very slow until they got to the rapids they were much much faster. Then we went to the ICT suite and searched different types of rivers like a Confluence,Ox-bow lake and a Meander. After that, we learnt about the Titanic (Tom’s favorite subject). we drew lines to show the Titanic’s journey to New York. We discussed who deserved a place on a lifeboat and we came to the conclusion that everyone had a reason and everyone deserved a place.Next is Romans (Lula’s personal favorite). Then we had to draw a picture of what countries the Romans conquered. After that we made a timeline of what happened in the time of the Roman emperors.

I loved it too! my fave subject was obviously Mountains and Rivers because we learned lots of keywords like the meander and confluence also I loved the Titanic because everyone deserved a place no matter class or gender 🙂

You’ve learned a lot! But what was the big question? I’m trying to make a link between Egyptian mummies, oxbow lakes and the Titanic, and I’m struggling!
